It was an interesting start for this week on all fronts. Cleaning and dusting the house was done over Monday & Tuesday. Took leave with work @ home option due to personal reasons and the spare time allowed for doing the activity. It is really a painful task but the results make you happy. I suffer from dust allergy and as expected got Hay Fever by the end of it all. Took couple tablets and am relieved now. Hope not to receive any yelling from dad :).
On the work front, it was bit exciting with some serious work happening on project completion. Appraisal's are round the corner and just received a mail, asking to complete it in 3 days. I was like "what the hell" 3 days to summarize a year's activities??, need some more time to complete and have brokered a pact asking for extension.
Another interesting thing happened, my colleague was selling his car and I was contemplating buying it. Spoke to mom asking for initial funding, she agreed to speak with Dad. Mom asked Dad and surprisingly he approved...i thought my starts are shining bright today...Spoke to my colleague and came to know he had a buyer with a higher price than what I had quoted, tried convincing him but nothing materialized. Cant blame him though as there was a huge difference from what the other buyer agreed and what I had quoted for...so near but so far....Actually for past two years I wanted to buy a car but never came too close as this time, unfortunately my wish is yet to be fulfilled.
My plan to go to Tirupati today failed, as did not get darshan tickets. Planning to go next week though...I felt today, it is not when you want to see god, but when he wants to see you, wow, sounding philosophical....
The test series with New Zealand has begun today and India had a splendid first day, but they could have played better by mopping up the tail. No offense to the Kiwis, specially Vettori & Ryder, they batted splendidly and gained some momentum. It will be interesting to see India play tomorrow (actually in 4 hours from now), hope they put up a good total and try winning the first match.
Interesting start...

Sunday
It was a lazy day today with nothing to do, just loitering around the house. Had planned to do some cleaning today as there was dust around and too many cobwebs..Most important, my dad is coming home this week and I would definitely get a earful if the house was in mess. Unfortunately when I woke up it was cloudy and did not feel like doing anything but lazing around....Newspaper was a bore today with no important news...On Sunday's we get this magazine section which is generally a good read but did not find anything interesting, maybe the climate had a effect.
The news channels kept showing the turmoil in Pakistan. With such incidents repeating there seems to be no end. My cousin sent me a funny take on the issue in Pakistan, have pasted it below, hope you enjoy....
Saw this movie on TV, Jaane tu, ya Jaane na...nice movie, wanted to see it long time back. The movie was really nice and had great fun watching it with my mom. Nice way to end the day though...
Ok folks, see y'll tomorrow....

Bad Day...
That guy was actually a techie working in the software industry and the media flashes this in their headline “Techie kills 4 day old baby”, now what does such an insane act has to do with his job profile, and the media as usual to make the news sensational tags it to the industry he is working in….I think the entire IT industry is the centre of attraction for all and anything bad happens with / against the people associated, it becomes front page material. Am wondering what would have been the headline if the guy was in the manufacturing or automotive industry….
Actually such branding or segregating an entire workforce because of one insane act affects other people in the community. After watching the news my mom was telling “see he is in IT field and what has he done, now nobody would marry off their girl to a person in the IT industry”, I was actually shocked hearing this from her. The same woman who has taught me to think rationally saying such a statement. I reasoned with her and explained that this has nothing to do with the industry he is working with, and that guy is really insane. Such is the power & effect the media has on people today and they need to be more realistic in parting news to people without bias.
I pity myself & my fellow colleagues in the IT world who are bearing the effect of something which is no fault of ours. Not just in this case but everywhere…Wherever you go you are targeted…people feel it is all glitzy for us and we earn loads of cash, where as the truth is yes we earn money, but we work our a** out for it….
I saw this cartoon recently and feel it would lighten up the mood of this post a little…

Politics & India
It is always interesting to write about Politics, and actually very insightful of how much it percolates to the lower stratum of society as it forms a major chunk of vote bank.
All promises made are revived only during the election time and few of those promises are implemented in the lead up to the election. In a country of 1 billion people it is a farce in the way these parties conduct themselves. Enemies become friends & friends as enemies. For the greed of power they go to extreme extents where even certain ideologies on which the parties were formed are bypassed. All for the end result.
The amount of money spent by parties (both accounted & unaccounted) is mind boggling. Politicians and their parties are never affected by recession I suppose. Only if all this money would have been put to good use we could be far better than what we are. I don’t think this is going to change unless there is a major sweeping change. Money is spent right from the time a person vies for a seat in his constituency, as he has to pay money so that he is nominated by the party, which is gullibly called as donation to the party fund. The person paying the money has everything at stake as he would have pledged or sold whatever he had in exchange for the nomination. If he loses he is doomed, due to which he goes to all extremes to win the contest. If he wins then the first important task in hand is to get his coffers filled, and he gets so involved, that he forgets why he is there where he is in the first place.
If all our politicians take their job seriously we can be among the best nation in the world. When people try to compare with some of the best cities in the world which have set a benchmark for themselves, I wonder if a day would come when people would like to see a city in India as a benchmark of a world class city….
I recently read a good joke and think it would fit with what we are experiencing today as governance…Pasted the same below, have fun!!!
As a daily habit, 10-year Old Pinto was reading newspaper.
Suddenly he asked his father, “Dad! What does it mean by Governance?”
"It’s like..." father said while thinking, "See! I earn and bring money To home, mean's I am a 'Money Holder'. Your mother decides where and How to spend that money and that means she is 'Government'. That maid in our home is doing all the household works, so she will be 'Labour Class'. You are a 'Common man' or 'Public'. Your little brother is 'Future' or the 'Next Generation', understand?”
That day Pinto slept with all those thoughts. In the middle of the night he woke-up because his little brother was crying. He wetted the mattress so he was crying. Pinto went to woke-up his mother. She was in deep sleep so Pinto went to the Maid's room to wake her up. But there his father was sleeping with the maid. So he came back with frustration.
Next morning father asked Pinto, "Hey Pinto Darling! You understood the 'Governance System'? ".
Pinto replied, "Yeah Dad, I understood! When money Holder is exploiting Labour Class, our Government is sleeping. Future of our nation is crying for not getting their basic needs fulfilled and in all this Common Man is suffering!"

On the Title
Many of my friends asked me what is the meaning of the title and some who knew the meaning asked me in what sense did I choose the title....The word Nubilous is from Latin, the details are given below; courtesy Wordsmith.org
nubilous
PRONUNCIATION: (NOO-buh-luhs, NYOO-)
MEANING: adjective: 1. Cloudy, misty, or foggy. 2. Vague or obscure.
ETYMOLOGY: From Latin nubilosus (cloudy), from nubes (cloud).
Many things you see and you think are not the same, it is quite the opposite. Everything seems so murky today, be it the economy, politics, people, everybody seem to have a hidden agenda. This was the reason for me choosing such a title.
I know, am going to get more brickbats then bouquets for this, but lets see…
All news channels today are continuously beaming about a party (an important player in India’s largest state) which gave money to people on the occasion of Holi. With the elections nearing and the election commission enforcing the code of conduct, many opposition parties are up in arms against the distribution of money. For the voters this is going to be a happy two months in the lead up to the election, because only now they are considered and will be treated very well, as after the elections all politicians and political parties are going to forget them for the next five years. It pains to see that even after so many years there is no change….
I’m done for today, will write in detail tomorrow on the Indian Political Tamasha…

My first post...on Cricket
Wow...here I am writing my first post...after cerebrating a lot decided on writing my own blog here. There are many things I would like to write about but will start with my favorite passion, Cricket. Though have not been playing much, I love watching cricket and am very passionate in following the game. What a fantastic couple of days it has been, Australia bouncing back and retaining their 1st place (will delve in details later)....
England desperately trying to square the series in West Indies, was fun to watch the last day's play after all the previous dud games in the series.
Above all India for the first time today in the history of Indian cricket winning a ODI series in New Zealand. What a fantastic game and series it has been, with all the big guns for India, Sachin, Sehwag, Yuvraj, Dhoni, firing in important stages which helped in winning the series. Move over the days when the team was dependent on one or two players, now everybody are contributing when needed which has helped in winning matches & series continuously. Keep going guys lets aim and reach the top spot soon.
Coming back to the aussies, they have come back really well after a very pathetic 2008, where they lost almost all their games. A nice young team with so many fresh faces...this is now being called Ponting's Age...where he is being credited with building the team, and rightly so, this is indeed very good for cricket. Now they have the young team and should be able to consolidate and start performing consistently....
Thanks folks for reading and would like you to comeback for more interesting posts in the coming days...
